Dr. Koen want you to feel as comfortable as possible on your first visit to our office. We will typically provide you with a tour, introduce you to our orthodontic team, and make digital photographs of your face and teeth. Then, we complete a comprehensive orthodontic examination to identify any orthodontic needs. We will also discuss all clinical, financial, and procedural aspects of your treatment. Each patient in our office will receive a personalized treatment plan. Once you are comfortable with your treatment objectives we will then obtain diagnostic records, which includes X- rays and impressions of the teeth may be taken, and in some cases, treatment may begin that same day. We will always answer any questions or concerns to the very best of our ability, and pride ourselves on excellent communication with our patients. We love keeping patients involved in their treatment progress, after all, orthodontics is a team effort between patient, doctor, and staff!

Adults and children alike can benefit from the results of orthodontic treatment. A beautiful smile, improved dental health, improved facial profile, and a boost in self-confidence can all be the result of proper treatment. Orthodontic problems, which can result from genetic and environmental factors, must be properly diagnosed before treatment begins. Orthodontics is both a science and an art. Each individual case presents unique challenges and opportunities to achieve a beautiful, functional smile. That is why we take the time to fully diagnose and explain the details of our findings. An individual diagnosis and treatment plan is based upon the patient’s history, clinical examination and diagnostic records. This enables us no make informed decisions in determining what type of appliance will provide the best results for you or your child. Treatment times vary depending upon the severity of the problem, as well as patient growth and compliance. Treatment typically lasts for two years. Once treatment is completed, retainers are worn to maintain the results. We believe in non-extraction treatment whenever possible. For our younger patients, we stress early screenings and intervention when necessary. This allows us to carefully monitor tooth and jaw development for your child. We also offer innovative options in braces, particularly for our adult patients, including ceramic or clear braces and aligner therapy. Colorful rubber bands make braces fun for many of our younger patients in our practice. The doctor will always see each patient at every visit. This type of one-on-one care is an essential part of our practice philosophy.
